We are excited to welcome Marcin Kupiñski to our Mentorship Program. Pre-registration is now open. Please submit your request with your preferred date/s and time/s for classes with Mr. Kupiñski. Mr. Kupiñski will be teaching Ballet classes and workshops live from Denmark, Live-streamed on Zoom.
Seeking qualified candidates (U.S. based only) showing strong competency and proficiency of / for research methods and contact management systems for the purpose of Marketing, Education, Audience Development, PR and Media Relations, Fundraising, Sales and Special Events of Arts and Culture / Entertainment related clientele.
Applicants from academic institutions in the U.S. (including recent graduates) should be willing to commit to at least 10-15 hours of remote work per week, Monday through Sunday during a minimum of three (3) months. Candidates must have at least 1-2 years previous experience in the Arts and Culture / Entertainment industry.
Please note that this is an unpaid position – college credit and practical training offered. Intern will work directly with AWB Management and Teaching Artists. BIO: Tanairi Sade Vazquez has made her mark in all avenues of the entertainment world in Broadway, Television and film. As an established Broadway performer, Tanairi’s debut was in The Original Revival cast of West Side Story as one of the shark girls in 2009. After that, she was unstoppable originating her roles in Wonderland, Gigi, and On Your Feet on Broadway and also being part of the First National tour of Come Fly Away. She is currently in the ensemble of Hamilton: An American Musical on Broadway. Her passion for acting doesn’t end at the Broadway stage. Her first big role was a recurring spot as Annie Valdez in Season 3 of Orange Is The New Black. She can also be seen in Law and Order SVU, The Blacklist, The Deuce, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Fosse/Verdon, and NBC’s Smash. Her next big project is set to premiere in December 2021, as a featured shark girl Charita in the new remake of West Side Story directed by Steven Spielberg, written by Tony Kushner, and choreographed by Justin Peck.

Art Without Borders New York is offering an exclusive Mentorship Program for students pursuing a career in the performing arts. The program provides a unique experience connecting students with world renowned industry professionals in the United States, including current and former company members from the New York City Ballet / Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts and Broadway.
Students registered to attend five (5) or more virtual classes will have the opportunity to apply for the AWB Mentorship Program. As part of this rare opportunity, each teaching artist will select one student as a Mentee* based on their work during the virtual program. The mentees will be offered: private coaching, guidance on academic and career goals, tickets to selected performances with a personalized backstage tour, and access to all AWB classes and events in 2021.
To be considered as a Mentee, you must attend a minimum of five (5) Virtual classes with Art Without Borders Inc. and submit a short video (5-min maximum) while taking a class from our Virtual Program.

Wendy Whelan, widely considered one of the world’s leading dancers of her generation, began dance lessons at the age of three in her hometown of Louisville, Kentucky. Whelan began intense professional training at the Louisville Ballet Academy. She was accepted to the summer program of the School of American Ballet at age 14; a year later, she moved to New York to continue her studies there full-time. In 1984, she was named an apprentice with New York City Ballet and joined the corps de ballet a year later.
Wendy Whelan went on to spend 30 years at New York City Ballet, dancing virtually all the major roles. She was promoted to Soloist in 1989 and to Principal dancer in 1991.
Ms. Whelan has been a guest artist all over the world. She received the Dance Magazine Award in 2007, and in 2009 was given a Doctorate of Arts, honoris causa, from Bellarmine University. In 2011, she received both The Jerome Robbins Award and a Bessie Award for her Sustained Achievement in Performance.Since 2013, she has been developing and touring her own independent projects. Her inaugural project, Restless Creature broke down boundaries between interdisciplinary dance forms. She remains committed in her work to opening up creative conversations and developing unexpected collaborations through dance.
In February 2019, Ms. Whelan marked a return to New York City Ballet when she was appointed Associate Artistic Director of the Company.
